Guitars have shaped my entire life and career. I started playing when I was 16 years old and worked at Sam Ash in Paramus, NJ that same year. In 2005, while recording an EP with my band Binary Code, I picked up a 7-string guitar and never looked back. I first discovered Carvin Guitars through their print catalogs, saved up for a custom 727 model in 2010, and by 2011 my band was touring with them - often alongside fellow Kiesel artists like Rivers of Nihil.
When Jeff Kiesel modernized the brand, it completely reignited my love for the instrument. I played one of Jeff’s personal Vader builds at NAMM 2020 and was instantly hooked. Becoming an official Kiesel artist years later felt like a full-circle moment, honoring the guitars that helped define my sound and build my path as a professional composer.
What makes Kiesel Guitars special isn’t just their craftsmanship, but how they treat their artists. They keep their roster small so they can actually know and support the people who play their instruments. That kind of personal connection means everything. I’m proud to call Kiesel both friends and masters of their craft, and I’m grateful to create music every day with guitars built by people who genuinely care.
BIG HUGS to Jeff Kiesel, Chrys Johnson, Chris Hong, and Jesse Michel!
