I’m beyond honored to be composing music for the upcoming Riot Games 2v2 fighting game 2XKO aka Project L!
I started music composition for the 2XKO in May of 2023, and it’s been absolutely incredible ever since. Riot is such an amazing company, with amazing people, and a deep passion for music - which is obvious in their many releases from the Arcane series on Netflix, the League of Legends history, and the many other games they have in their legacy.
THE MUSIC SO FAR
As of now, the music for 2XKO is some of the best I’ve composed to date. I’m grateful I get the opportunity to showcase composing styles that I haven’t previously been known for, and some that I am. One of my favorite things to do when working on linear themes for characters is the musicology and research that goes into developing their musical identity. I’m very grateful that my time working with Marvel prepared me for that, because I know how much Riot fans love their champions! This is by far the most detailed and fine-tuned music I’ve ever worked on, and I can’t wait for players to listen to it!

Do you need something fresh and new to help bring your game to life? If you didn’t, you’d use library music, right? But you don’t, and that’s because as much as the game as a whole needs to be a new experience to the player, as does the music. And frankly, the idea of making “new” or “state of the art” music is a daunting task for the production process.
I find that there’s a formula to creating something new and state of the art: Diversity + Experience + Knowledge + Skill + Teamwork x Experimentation = NEW. And as you can imagine by this point, I believe I’m the formula for new.

The more music a person listens to, whether it be academically or for leisure, the more a person has variables for producing either on-the-money OR uncommonly creative musical answers. The more experience someone has, the more they know right from wrong, and practical measurements of outcome.
The more knowledge someone has about development, games, implementation, music, and teamwork, the better the service. The higher the level of execution of creating from ideas and inspiration the higher your chance is of having your vision come to life.
The better the team player the person is, the more refined and stylistic the end results will be. And most importantly, you take ALL of that, and multiply it by a methodical process of experimentation, and you get yourself a GREAT version of NEW. That’s where I come in.
